 Labor Day Food Drive!
Please help keep our Furry Kids' bellies full by participating in our 2nd Annual Labor Day Food Drive at the Lee's Summit Petco on Saturday, August 30th! Please come by and donate a bag of dog or cat food - it is tax-deductible and greatly appreciated!! We rely on your support to keep our Furry Kids healthy and strong. Many are so malnourished when they join our program, it is essential to provide quality food for each animal that comes to us. We appreciate your generosity!

Adoption Events - Saturdays
Please note: We will NOT be doing adoptions at Petco on Saturday, August 16th but will return the following Saturday, August 23rd!
We will be at the Petco in Lee's Summit from 12pm - 5pm.
Petco is located at 50 Hwy and Chipman Rd in the shopping center next to Target.
 Please come by and meet some wonderful rescued dogs and cats!! You may adopt companion animals from us at our adoption events but we suggest you fill out an application online if there is a particular furry kid you are interested in! You can view all our available cats and dogs on Petfinder.com and then fill out either a dog or cat application. We will be in touch and arrange for you to meet your potential new furry kid!
Could you open your home and heart to foster a dog or cat? We are always needing great foster homes to help us save more Furry Kids. If you are interested in fostering, plesae fill out the application here!

Prayer of a Stray
Dear God please send me somebody who'll care
I'm tired of running, I'm sick with despair.
My body is aching, it's so racked with pain,
And dear God I pray as I run in the rain
That someone will love me and give me a home.
A warm cozy bed and a big juicy bone.
My last owner tied me all day in the yard
Sometimes with no water and God that was hard
So I chewed my leash God and I ran away
To rummage in garbage and live as a tray.
But now God I'm tired and hungry and cold
And I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old.
They've chased me with sticks and hit me with stones
While I run the streets just looking for bones.
I'm not really bad God, please help if you can,
For I have just become "a victim of man".
I'm wormy dear God and I'm ridden with fleas
And All that I want is an owner to please.
If you find one for me God,
I'll try to be good And I won't chew on their shoes,
But I'll do as I should.
I'll love them, protect them and try to obey
When they tell me to sit, to lie down or to stay.
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
Cause I'm getting weak and I'm so all-alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
Cause I'm so afraid God, that I'm going to die
And I've got so much love and devotion to give
That I should be given a chance to live.
