Got Stuff to Donate?? Have you just done some Spring Cleaning? Please consider donating your "stuff" to our Rummage Sale! Your donation is tax-deductible and you'll get that warm fuzzy feeling of knowing you are helping homeless animals :) ...just be sure to keep a list of the things you are donating to keep along with your tax receipt from us. We will take just about anything! Please visit our website for more information on how to donate your stuff! We hope you can come by the sale and shop till you drop!

In honor of their 15th birthday, Petfinder is asking people everywhere to pledge to spread the word online about adoptable pets today, March 15, 2011.
What You Can Do
Take their pledge that you will tell one person about pet adoption on March 15. By pledging, you'll enter for a chance to win one of 10 Pet Hair Eraser® Vacuums from BISSELL.
On March 15, donate your Facebook status and photo to an adoptable Petfinder pet. Simply replace your photo with one from Furry Kids' Petfinder page and include this message: "I adopted my pet from Petfinder and now I want to help get this pet adopted! If you want to help pets in need of forever homes, please repost this!"

 Take a look at this adorable face....can you believe that someone abandoned her? Well, they did! Layla was abandoned at a Vet's office in the Joplin area. One of our Furry Kids' volunteers rescued her and brought her into our Foster Family network. Fast forward several months and Layla is one happy little girl! She is living the good life in her new forever home!
Here's a note from her forever Mom:
Layla is doing great, she's now sleeping on Keely's bed at night and they both wake up much happier (haha.) House training is going well, she's still in her crate during the day but Mitch lets her out several times a day to play.
We gave Layla her first bath the week and although she didn't look thrilled, she didn't try to escape. (She smells much better now)
She is so sweet...thank you for all of your help with her.

Dawg is a 7 year old Australian Shepherd mix who was left behind when his owners sold their farm and moved away. They 'assumed' the new owners would let him stay...??? That didn't happen so Dawg is without a home. Is yours available?? He is a little timid at first but quickly warms up and craves the attention he has never had.

Event Set-Up Volunteers Needed! |
Looking for a way to help out but don't have a lot of spare time? Do you have 45 minutes? If so, you could become an Event Set-Up Volunteer!
We need helpers to set-up and tear down at our weekly Petco adoptions. We start setting up at 9:30am and begin tearing down at 4:00pm. If you think you might be interested, just email Catie and we'll send you more information.
